Welcome to the Danforth Historical Society
Welcome to the Danforth Historical Society. Formed in 2003, the Danforth Historical Society has received memorabilia of the community and displays the photographs and artifacts in a room at the Danforth Community Hall.
Board meetings are held at 7:00pm on the first Tuesday of every month at the Danforth Community Hall. All members are welcome to provide input and suggestions either at the monthly board meetings or by contacting an officer.
Fall and spring programs spotlight various aspects of Danforth and its rich history. Past programs have included family historical portrayals (cemetery walk, Henrietta Brockman by her granddaughter, Jill Cummings), history of Danforth schools, a hayride tour of historical homes, and presentations of family histories. In addition to membership dues, the DHS has received memorials, donations and contributions from individuals as well as our community partners, the Danforth Village Board and the Farmers State Bank of Danforth and Aroma Park, and has been awarded grants from the Freed Charitable Trust, Princess Onarga Questers, and the Illinois State Questers that support various projects.
